“We can’t keep missing opportunities to develop wind & solar sites simply because energy companies don’t know how to engage communities.”
We hope you are enjoying the final days of spring, the summer months are right around the corner 🌞.
In this month’s newsletter - an energy price cap & winter fuel payment update, advocating for community energy at the Future of Utilities Summit, the government spending review, & a final chance to book our silent, emissions-free power generator for your SE London outdoor event.
Our latest share offer is still coming soon, despite a few delays. We are currently just waiting for a couple of sites to sign on the dotted line.

Energy Price Cap / Winter Fuel Payment Update
On the 23rd of May, the energy regulator Ofgem announced a 7% reduction of the energy price cap for the period covering July to September 2025, equating to a fall of around £11 per month for the average household, over the three-month period of the price cap.
It has also been announced that Winter Fuel Payments will be reinstated to pensioners in England and Wales this winter earning under £35,000.
This is significantly higher than the threshold last winter, when only pensioners earning under £11,600 a year qualified - it means nine million pensioners will get the £200 or £300 top-up.
NB this is based on individual income, not household income. For example, if one person earns £30,000 a year and the other £40,000, one would receive the winter fuel payment and the other would not. Finally, the government says "no one will need to register with HMRC for this or take any further action". Find out more.

Warm Home Plan Maintained
Positive news in the government spending review - with Labour maintaining its commitment to the Warm Homes Plan, its £13bn fund dedicated to insulate and decarbonise 5m cold, leaky homes.
We now need to step up our efforts across the board to lift more people out of fuel poverty, and create a just transition to a cleaner, fairer energy system in future 💡.
Background & how we previously responded to rumours the funding would be cut.
