Tackling fuel poverty: Key skills for front line workers
Tuesday, March 1, 2016 from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Do your clients struggle to heat and power their homes? Do they sit in their living room wrapped in coats and blankets rather than risk a fuel bill that they cannot pay? Being cold is not only miserable, it is also dangerous: every year four times more people die from living in cold homes than die on British roads. The elderly, the under 5’s, those with disabilities or health conditions or those living on low incomes are most at risk. This half-day workshop will provide you with the knowledge to support your clients with energy issues: you’ll learn: how you can help clients to navigate the energy market in order to reduce their fuel bills or to cope with fuel debt and how to access discounts and grants.
The UK’s homes are some of the least energy efficient in Europe – leaking heat from their doors, walls and windows. You will also learn top tips that will enable clients to be energy efficient. The course is hands-on packed with real –life examples, designed by practitioners for practitioners. It is followed by a FREE tasty networking lunch.
