We hope you’re enjoying the brighter mornings and lighter evenings.
Through our community share offers, we currently have 11 solar arrays and seven sites at which we’ve installed LEDs. And we estimate that we’re saving the local community nearly £100,000 pounds on their bills, generating clean energy and saving on carbon emissions.
We are now gearing up for our latest community share offer - read Cara’s piece for more background on how it all works.
We also have an article in Positive News with more details, and Selce’s story so far.
Read on below for more on some of the supports we are currently offering, plus advice on solar, and a video recap of the Festival of Retrofit last month.
We've been going through a process of measuring the impact of our work. Here's an example for just one year in Lewisham:
Support and Advocacy Service for Private Renters in Lewisham
Selce has launched a free, pilot advocacy program to help any private renter in Lewisham who is having problems with disrepair and negative rental relationships with their landlords. This pilot project is being delivered in partnership with our funders Lewisham Council, who are supporting with additional advice and enforcement resources.
Grant Updates for Homeowners:
The Great British Insulation Scheme is open to all homeowners - The grant can help households that live in houses with EPC D-G and in council tax bands A-D access a single insulation measure, either completely free of charge or with a partial contribution, depending on household income - find out more about current grants.
Relaunched Homeowner Survey & Plan Offerings:
Looking to understand if solar is feasible on your home through a survey? Seeking a thermal imaging survey or Whole House Plan to ensure your home improvement plans work seamlessly? Or just need an EPC on your property?
All of the above services are now available in the same place via our homeowner service - and rest assured, by enlisting Selce your survey or plan will also help fund our energy advice work and community support - along with a trusted service that doesn’t just seek to maximise profit.
