It has been a busy summer at Selce, in between heatwaves and drought. All of which only drive us forward, faster in our mission to power a cleaner, fairer future in South East London.

Yesterday we announced that we reached our £70k target for our 7th share offer - meaning Charlton Park Academy will get its heat pump!

This school, which supports young people with complex and low-incidence special educational needs and disabilities, was one of our first solar sites.

And now work is set to begin on renewable heating for its hydrotherapy pool - a facility both vital to the community and highly energy intensive.

Over 20 years of operation, the heat pump is projected to save 313 tonnes in CO2e emissions, and more than £150,000 for the school - huge thanks to all of our investors and everyone who has supported this project.

6 Things to Test on Home Heating Before it Gets Cold

While we’re not using the heating, it’s easy to forget it’s even there until winter comes around again.

But here are 6 simple things we can all do right now – that take only a few minutes and may save lots of time later on.

Join our AGM at the Blue Garage

We’re holding our annual AGM at the Blue Garage in Lewisham on Thursday 24th September - This is your opportunity to find out about another packed year in the life of Selce and to be a part of what we do going forward.

The brief formal AGM business from 7 – 8pm will be followed by informal sessions with our community energy, energy advice and retrofit operational teams, to hear first-hand about their work. There will be a break with refreshments and the chance to meet fellow Selce members.

SE London Home Retrofit Meet-Up: Networking & DIY Draft Excluders

Thurs 5th November, 6.30-8.30pm Venue TBC

After a sold out summer of DIY, we continue our retrofit event series with a casual meet up for people who are retrofitting their homes to talk and share their experiences.

Join us for an evening of energy advice, crafting your own draught excluder and chatting with people who have completed or are in the process of making their homes more energy efficient.

This is a chance to share your experiences of retrofit with one another and to ask questions of others who are also making their homes more energy efficient - book your free ticket.
