Zine Month

A few quick updates.

For zine month, I'm making a zine, specifically the kind I will print out on my printer and assemble at home. It's of Liars, Friends and Troublemakers, the one from last email. There's no crowdfunding aspect, but it is limited in time to one month so that I can make them all at once and not worry about it after that.

Unfortunately it will have to be US only, but it is $5 including shipping.

Other people's games

There's an unofficial list of zine month games here: https://zinemonth.spread.name/

For more traditional zine month, here are some things I'm excited about:

  • I'm a bit late for this, but I'm excited for Milk Bar. It's a unique setting and I like seeing more takes on games in modern settings.

  • Tiny Fables is absolutely gorgeous and a really compelling concept for Mausritter

  • Tome of Tombs seems particularly zine-y and I love it when people bring in knowledge from other parts of their life to zine month

  • Specific locations seem to be a theme this time, Shrines: Sites of Reverence & Power is a riso-printed zine with great design

  • For something totally different, Death Enters the Saloon is a pretty cool story game, solidly on the story game side of things.

What I've been up to

I've been pretty busy lately, mostly with non-TTRPG stuff, including having promised to make a more traditional zine. I'm also trying to make more time to play more games, and in particular I've started a PBP of Try The Beetle Milk.

I am planning to more seriously return to the free solo adventure, A Stolen Sword in a Dark Forest, but I also want to first make time to play more solo games and get a bit more opinionated about them.

I also have a vague idea of making a dungeon in the general area of A Gathering Storm, even though I'm usually not a huge dungeon person. There has been some uncharacteristically large storms around and I was going for a walk the other day and the storm has completely rearranged the path.

A trench has eroded in a dirt path and is filled with branches
