End of year ish 2024 update
This has been a quieter year for me in TTRPGs and a much busier year in general, I’m hoping to have more to share in 2025.
Over the last two months I had a bit more time, which I mostly spent writing blog posts. These include:
A public, free version of the key idea in Procedures to Discover the Path Ahead, as well as some new ideas I’m playing with.
Some worldbuilding about vampires and the afterlife.
A writeup of Big Bad Con, where I played 8 games I had never played before.
A new taxonomy of games, whose main, possibly new contribution is that prompt-oriented games are their own thing and bridge “NSR” games and “story” games.

I also contributed a bit to the (still WIP) adventure Wormtooth, by Cats Have No Lord.
Modified Public Domain Art
The other main thing I’ve been up to is editing public domain art into something more TTRPG relevant.
It started with editing out details from scenes that made them overly specific, e.g.

from

And then I did a few other things like make cutouts from larger scenes

Or interesting symbols

Or possible layout elements.
I put them up here: https://seedling.itch.io/modified-public-domain-art
I’ll probably keep adding to that over time.
Plans for next year
Next year, I plan to finally finish A Stolen Sword in a Dark Forest (after well over a year).
Also, I have a bunch of Cairn-adjacent worldbuilding blog posts in drafts. Custom Cairn backgrounds, an oracle deck (which I think I shared a draft of previously), a bunch of lore-only additions to magic.
If I somehow have time, I’m thinking of doing a strictly modern day not-quite-cyberpunk adventure. I also have vague thoughts of trying to collaborate more - which is going to be dependent on being able to be consistent in finding time to do TTRPG things.
