See Moir Music: February 2025
Quick recap
I spent most of January sick, so I had to skip the DJ Seinfeld, Jasper Tygner & DJ Dials show 🙁 thankfully I've seen all of them play before, but still sad to miss!

Music lately
You can always follow me on bandcamp to see what I've bought lately…
I've been cycling between Paravi's track Angry, some Mk.gee tracks, and Waxahatchee's track Burns Out at Midnight. When I'm not in that mood, I'm listening to Upper90, Faster Horses, and Baron von Trax.
Some recent Bandcamp highlights:
- BICEP & ELIZA - CHROMA 008 TANGZ
- Malugi & Wolters - Want My Love
- Baron von Trax - Come Back to Me
- Villager - Need Right / Dogma
- Upper90 & Baron von Trax - At Night EP
- Faster Horses - Wish U Were Mine \<3
- Diffrent - Breath Dub
- softclip_ - THISTLE
Other notes
I mentioned last month that I was noodling on a longer post about Will Tavlin's essay about Netflix, Casual Viewing, and Liz Pelly's book excerpt about Spotify, Ghosts in the Machine.
I'm still researching those thoughts to death, and as such I have:
- reread parts of Record Cultures: The Transformation of the U.S. Record Industry
- read Where Did Our Love Go?: The Rise and Fall of the Motown Sound
- just started reading Derivative Media: How Wall Street Devours Culture
- Chokepoint Capitalism: How Big Tech and Big Content Captured Creative Labor Markets and How We'll Win Them Back cued up next
- (in truth there are always infinite books cued up next but the library adds at least a semblance of an upper limit)
I promise I'm reading some fiction in between (or just watching hoof trimming videos on YouTube). Whenever I research something this much it reduces the odds that I'll ever publish anything about it, but at least I get to learn a lot in the meantime! Would love to hear your thoughts or gather some book recommendations as well.
