97. It’s been an (even) long(er) time, I shouldn’t have left you (again)
False starts, false hopes. All those things have been in full effect down here as the first warm flickers of summer peeks through an unsatisfactory Melbourne spring time. “Summer’s gonna hurt you”, as the (sampled) song goes.
So much has happened since the last episode, this one episode has had many false starts too. It turns out that in the busiest of times my time worn strategy of ‘productive procrastination’ - doing the least worst tasks to procrastinate the worst of them - has not worked in this case. If new ‘least worst tasks’ keep getting added to the task list then it’s not easy to get deeper than a few levels in! There is probably a good metaphor for the state of the world, or the state of the economy, right now.
So today I sat in the afternoon sun, opened a new empty draft, and started writing afresh.
