This has turned out to be a double-episode it is so long. So pace yourself. This time there’s a lot of (idea) threads being pulled all at once. And a little bit of music sprinkled throughout. Which will make sense as you go. There are ten parts and there are probably a few typos.

Find a pair of nice headphones or fire up the stereo - not your laptop speakers or ‘smart’ speaker - and pop on Abul Mogard’s Quiet Pieces. The latest from one of several alter egos of Guido Zen, Quiet Pieces is equal parts Wolfgang Voigt’s Gas project, The Caretaker, and drone music. The (fictional)back story for this one is that Mogard was ‘going through the old 78s of his late uncle’ and composed these pieces from sampled and processed shards of those records played at 33 and 45. Regardless of the story, the five tracks rise and fall as oceanic turbulences of sound. Highly recommended at high volume, and perfect for the length of the read ahead.
