Scientists in Solidarity Action Hours are Back!

Science under attack: Let's unite, ignite action, and build a future where science serves all!

Lately, many of us in science are feeling the strain. Funding is shrinking. Disinformation is spreading. Universities are cutting jobs, and public trust in science is being undermined by people who treat truth as negotiable.

It’s easy to feel isolated — like all we can do is keep our heads down and hope things get better. But the truth is, this isn’t just a funding crisis. It’s a crisis of legitimacy, solidarity, and meaning.

Authoritarian movements are deliberately eroding science, public education, and democracy. They want us overwhelmed, neutralized, and alone.

We’re not playing that game.

🧫 Why We’re Gathering

Scientists in Solidarity is a political home and organizing hub that mobilizes science professionals into collective action for a just, liberated future for science and society.

We’re building, not just reacting — connecting scientists who refuse to sit this moment out and who want to move from isolation to formation.

Action Hours are where we come together each month to:

  • Learn what’s happening and how science is being targeted

  • Take concrete, strategic actions together

  • Build the muscles of solidarity and hope

We’re not trying to “get back to normal.” Normal wasn’t working for everyone.
We’re building the world — and the science — that does.

🔧 How We Build Power

In Scientists in Solidarity, we:

  • Basebuild through 1:1s, political education, and Action Hours like this

  • Mobilize scientists to defend public goods and democracy

  • Support one another through mutual aid and care

  • Shift culture by naming science as political and building solidarity across sectors

🗓 Join the Next Action Hour Tuesday, Nov 11 8PM ET

We’re in a time that demands more than good intentions — it demands collective action.

Come spend an hour with others who refuse to give up on the possibility of science serving the common good. You’ll leave with a clearer sense of the moment we’re in, actions that matter, and a network that has your back.

We’re not just acting. We’re building.
Together, we can turn anxiety into action, isolation into connection, and fear into formation.
