Quick Update: No Sign of the New Consultation
A quick update on the “extra consultation” we emailed you about on November 6.
In our last message, we explained that Sheffield City Council had told Full Council they would write to everyone on their mailing list in the week beginning 10 November (after previously mentioning the week beginning 3 November) to invite comments on certain late Examination documents.
We got ready on the basis of that promise, but at the time of writing - 7:30pm on Friday 14 November - no-one in our group has received anything from the Council, and nothing has appeared on the Examination website to confirm that the new consultation has opened.
So, firstly:
You haven’t missed anything.
As far as we know, the consultation has not started.
We’re sorry if our last email made you feel you needed to spring into action this week. We shared what the Council said in good faith, but the timetable seems to have slipped again - and, frustratingly, they haven’t explained why.
In the meantime, we’re still:
Keeping a close eye on the Examination website and any new documents,
Staying in touch with the Programme Officer,
Working with our planning and legal team so we’re ready the moment the consultation actually opens.
We still expect the consultation window to be just three weeks, so when it does finally appear, things will move quickly. When that happens, we’ll email with:
Clear confirmation of the dates,
Which documents you can comment on,
Simple guidance and example points you can use in your own response.
