What you can do the week of April 28

Mark your calendar to attend one or more of these upcoming events!

🗓️ DFL Senior Caucus 2025 Rally: Wednesday, April 30th, 1:00–3:00pm at the State Capitol. This is a statewide rally to protest cuts on Social Security, Medicaid, and Veteran Health Care.

🗓️ Protect Public Lands – Rally for the Boundary Waters: Thursday, May 8, 3:00–5:00pm at the State Capitol. Organized by the MN chapter of Backcountry Hunters & Anglers, Sportsmen for the Boundary Waters, and Save the Boundary Waters, along with a coalition of conservation groups

🗓️ May 1 International Workers Day Rally and March: 4:30–6:00p at the State Capitol. Organized by the Minnesota Immigrant Rights Action Committee and Kalpulli KetzalCoatlicue.

☎️ Commit to calling your Members of Congress at least twice this week. Calls really do make a difference! Be sure to give your full name, location, and zip code every time you call.

• Amy Klobuchar – DC: (202) 224-3244, MN: (612) 727-5220

• Tina Smith – DC: (202) 224-5641, MN: (651) 221-1016

Ask Amy and Tina to join other Democratic Senators in calling for a more effective leader than Chuck Schumer. His comments April 27th about his plan to fight to Trump’s shakedown of Harvard — “We sent him a very strong letter just the other day asking eight very strong questions” — were for many people the final straw. He is simply not the leader that the Democrats desperately need to fight back against Trump’s assault on democracy.

Also, be sure to thank Amy for joining Cory Booker’s sit-in on the Capitol steps on Sunday. This — combined with his filibuster and other innovative tactics — is the kind of leadership the Democrats need.

• Betty McCollum – (202) 225-6631, St. Paul: (651) 224-9191

Thank Betty for calling for Hegseth to resign, but again this week ask her to do more. As the ranking member of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense, ask her to initiate a “forum” to further investigate and keep the spotlight on Hegseth’s repeated texting of highly classified war plans on his personal phone.

Until next week!
