What you can do the week of April 22

🗓️ Mark your calendar to attend one of these upcoming events! Showing up to a rally or protest is great for connecting with neighbors who are equally committed to protecting our fragile democracy. And remember, it only takes 3.5% of people to change the world!

• Thursday, April 24, 4:00–6:00pm: Defend the National Parks rally — Gather at NPS visitor’s center in the Science Museum of Minnesota.

• Friday, April 25, 4:30–5:30pm: Join St. Paul neighbors at the intersection of Snelling and Selby to support the Stand on Every Corner protest movement.

• Thursday, May 1, 4:30pm: Save the date for the next large-scale protest at the State Capitol on May Day/International Workers day. More details to come!

☎️ Have you tried calling your members of Congress yet? Calls really do make a difference! Be sure to give your full name, location, and zip code every time you call.

• Amy Klobuchar – DC: (202) 224-3244, MN: (612) 727-5220

Thank Amy for calling attention to Trump’s flouting of the Supreme Court order to facilitate Kilmar Abrego Garcia’s return. Ask her to continue to publicize our impending constitutional crisis in any way she can.

• Tina Smith – DC: (202) 224-5641, MN: (651) 221-1016

Ask Tina to do more to publicly condemn and bring attention to Trump’s assault on the rule of law and flouting of the Supreme Court order. Tina has not released a single public statement on this issue as of April 22nd.

• Betty McCollum – (202) 225-6631, St. Paul: (651) 224-9191

Thank Betty for calling for Hegseth to resign, but ask her to do more. Betty wields power as the ranking member of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense. Ask her to initiate a “forum” (the minority party can’t call for hearings) to further investigate and keep the spotlight on Hegseth’s repeated texting of highly classified war plans on his personal phone.
