Here's what you can do this week.
🗓️ Mark your calendar …
Tuesday, July 1, 4:00–5:30 PM – Defend Public Health rally, hosted by Indivisible Twin Cities. From Medicaid to vaccines to reproductive rights and more, the “Big, Horrid Bill” will negatively impact public health programs that affect us all. Join the rally at the Minnesota Department of Health, 625 Robert St N. in St. Paul.
Thursday, July 17 – Good Trouble Lives On protests (Twin Cities details TBD). These nationwide demonstrations will mark the next big public mobilization against the Trump administration and their attacks on voting rights, the gutting of essential services, disappearances of our neighbors, and the assault on our right to protest.
Every Monday at 5:00 PM – Join the Stand on Every Corner rally at Snelling and Larpenteur Aves.
☎️ Call your Members of Congress!
Amy Klobuchar – DC: (202) 224-3244 / MN: (612) 727-5220
Tina Smith – DC: (202) 224-5641 / MN: (651) 221-1016
Betty McCollum – (202) 225-6631 / St. Paul: (651) 224-9191
Ask Tina and Amy to do everything in their power to try to slow, stall, and ultimately derail the “Terrible, Awful Bill” that would, among other things, cut 10.3 million Americans from Medicaid by 2034 to pay for tax cuts for billionaires.
Democrat Senators will have the opportunity to offer unlimited amendments during the voting process, so they should do so! One suggestion: Ask them to propose to shift all the increased funding for ICE to fund Planned Parenthood instead. (Or, suggest your own amendment – the only limitation is that it has to be related to funding and the budget.)
