Productivity Notes
I bullet journal. Or, at least I do my version of it. I don’t use it every day, nor do I remember to create monthly/weekly spreads. I used to use it more when I was in grad school, for my notes, etc. But even then, it was sporadic. But lately, my ADHD has been crippling me. I can’t focus on anything. Nothing is sparking my interest. I’m anxious to find a job and move1. So much to do, but I don’t know where to start.
So I’m using the bullet journal again. And with it, using my way of using my ADHD to my advantage with chores and other stuff. I call it my ADHD20 list.
Why yes, I’m that nerd.
Basically, it’s a list of 20 things to do. Everything from cleaning the bathroom to creating art to exercising and self-care to reaching out to friends that I haven’t talked to in a while. I roll my d20, and whatever number it lands on, I do it.
Now, there’s some limitations that I personally put on myself. I don’t clean the ENTIRE kitchen, for example, I start with putting out the recycling. Then i roll again for something else. When I land on “clean kitchen” again, if the recycling is done, I move on to doing the dishes. Breaking things down into little tasks helps with being overwhelmed. It works. And I’m proud of myself because of it.
I caved and bought Baulder’s Gate 3.
And it’s just as wonderful as everyone says.
And I’m horrible at it.
I’m in love.
It’s also a good time sink so I don’t feel the itch to go back to playing World of Warcraft.
Currently (Re)Reading - Kushiel’s Dart by Jacquline Carey
Read this when it came out back in 2001. And why yes, it helped shaped my views on sex. But the funny thing is, after all these years, I remember the story more than the kink. Which goes to show you how good of a storyteller Carey is.
Currently Watching - The Witcher season 3
I’m not super far into it, episode 4 iirc, but I don’t see why everyone is all up in arms about it.
And I’ll leave you with some recent art:
To Baltimore. If you have any job leads in the library or library adjacent fields (metadata! AI! information!) please let me know.
