An Occasional Newsletter

Neuroses.jpg

To be honest, I get overwhelmed with all the things I want to do.

Like my art!

And my Sesame Street Lego set!

And reading books!

And doing anything in a consistent manner.

Hello. I’m Kelly. Welcome to yet another newsletter. Feel free to unsubscribe. But I also know there are only 5 of you reading this and I know where all of you live.

School started again, so I’ll have lots to talk about library-wise. I have 2! TWO term papers to write. All academic like too. I don’t think I have ever written a term paper before. I do like APA over MLA though.

Things that have distracted me this week:

Weird Old Book Finder - It’s exactly what it says. Uses only stuff in the public domain. Somehow I lost about an hour or so last night reading random pages about fishing. The same guy created Marginalia. Which is a search engine that doesn’t give you the normal search engine stuff. Pretty cool. Reminds me of going down the rabbit hole in the pre-google days.

I also stopped using Goodreads. I’m using StoryGraph; and while the UI has a lot to be desired, it’s only 3 people and very much NOT Amazon. I paid the $40 for the extra stuff, which I believe just gives you access to better recommendations and the ability to beta test stuff. I have high hopes for it though. I still have my Goodreads account, but I’ve been ignoring it this past month. It’s hard giving up something you’ve invested so much time into. Like Facebook. only without the unicorns.

Was asked the other day why I didn’t have a Tiktok. Told them I'm afraid that I’ll just become a superstar and gain a following because I’m so fucking funny.

That’s a lie though.

I don’t have a Tiktok because I don’t need another distraction.

And I don’t have a phone holder so I can record all those stupid dances.

And ZERO editing skills.

Although, I am kinda funny.

heart,

kelly
