Apologies for the duplicate email. I had the wrong opening hours in my last announcement, which seems appropriate for a show about slippery time.
If you happen to be in the greater New York area and would enjoy a little jaunt out of the city, I’d love to see you on Saturday, April 5, 4–6 p.m. in Tuxedo Park, NY. I’ll be in town for the opening of my solo show Timeball at Cheymore Gallery. (Conveniently, the gallery is across the street from a NJ Transit station!)
It’s a show of seven paintings and one clock, referencing a variety of ways to spend and measure one’s time (cards, games, puzzles, hourglasses, etc.).
The title comes from the giant spheres once raised and lowered in harbors to help ships set their marine chronometers. I made this work in a suspended pocket of studio time. The hope is that viewing the art makes your own sense of time flow a bit differently.
