Every now and then someone asks me if I’ve made a print of a particular painting and I have to say, No, sorry, maybe someday.
Happily, that day has arrived! Lozenge Links 2, a two-color screenprint by the amazing Josh Freitas of Poppy Press, is now a fundraiser edition for the 2025 San Francisco Art Book Fair!
Lozenge Links 2, 2025; Two-color screenprint on 250gsm Coventry Rag, 24 x 18 inches, Edition of 25; Printed by Poppy Press; $200 each.
The edition will officially premiere July 10 at the fair’s opening night (in a deluxe frame by Small Works), but a limited number of prints are now available for pre-sale.
I’m pleased to have a whole bunch of paintings in New York right now, both for NADA New York (May 7–11) with Romer Young and for my show Timeball at Cheymore Gallery (up through May 31).
Here’s how to get to both:
NADA New York May 7–11 The Starrett-Lehigh Building 601 W 26th Street, 3rd Floor New York, NY
After Hours, 2025; Flashe and acrylic on canvas over panel, 24 × 24 inches
Apologies for the duplicate email. I had the wrong opening hours in my last announcement, which seems appropriate for a show about slippery time.
If you happen to be in the greater New York area and would enjoy a little jaunt out of the city, I’d love to see you on Saturday, April 5, 4–6 p.m. in Tuxedo Park, NY. I’ll be in town for the opening of my solo show Timeball at Cheymore Gallery. (Conveniently, the gallery is across the street from a NJ Transit station!)
Lady Mondegreen, 2024; Flashe, acrylic and acryla gouache on canvas over panel, 18 × 24 inches
It’s a show of seven paintings and one clock, referencing a variety of ways to spend and measure one’s time (cards, games, puzzles, hourglasses, etc.).

Artists Lava Thomas, Mildred Howard and Cheryl Derricotte: live, on stage!
I’m writing to give Bay Area folks a little something to look forward to in the week ahead.
I’m honored to be moderating a discussion between three local luminaries this Thursday, Nov. 7, for a panel called Women in Public Art.
Lava Thomas, Mildred Howard and Cheryl Derricotte (!) will be on stage at the San Francisco Public Library to discuss their contributions to our urban landscapes, the ins and outs of working at large scales with metal and glass, and the shifts they hope for in the realm of public art.
A very big thank you to everyone who came out to the opening of Rotator or has stopped by Romer Young in the weeks since. I’m so glad I finally get to share this work with other eyes after months of solo studio time.
If you want to hear more about how I made these paintings, which colors I love/hate and anything else you’ve been itching to ask, writer, educator, curator and all-around role model Glen Helfand and I will be in conversation at the gallery on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 5:30–6:30 p.m.
I’ve been in deep studio mode for the past three months, much to the detriment of my sanity and social life. But the end goal is finally here! On Thursday, September 12, 6–8 p.m. I hope you can join me for the opening of my solo show Rotator at Romer Young Gallery.
Silent K, 2024; Flash and acryla gouache on canvas over panel, 16 × 16 inches.
The paintings were made in San Francisco and the snowy wilds of Wyoming. There are references to a Tenderloin corner store sign, mazes, tile patterns, a rubber bath mat and a bunch of free-floating imagery from the preschool toy bin. I listened to a lot of mystery novels while making this show; some of that tricksy logic has definitely made its way into the paintings.
On Saturday, May 4, 2–5 p.m. I’ll be down in LA for the opening of Dingbats, a show at Sow & Tailor with my talented friend Jonathan Runcio. It’s a quick trip for me, but if you can make it out, I’d love to see you there!
Dingbats Sarah Hotchkiss and Jonathan Runcio May 4–June Sow & Tailor 157 W 27th Street, Los Angeles
