More distractions

  • Gelukkig nieuw jaar, allemaal!

  • Discovered that a scene in the manuscript that I have written and rewritten and can visualise perfectly was missing. So the following five scenes made no sense. How? Where is the scene!? Why would I take it out?! Where are the Slims? Where is my Claire Keegan book?!

  • Found scene in the wrong place. Thank you, Scrivener. Reminder to self to not edit in the throes of a headache. (Which happened because I bonked my head against the open dryer door. I am literally a cartoon.)

  • Realised that I wrote this manuscript so many times I could put the discarded bits together as a whole different novel. (Bad idea. Abort.)

  • I never want to see reels about hidden gems. Please make it stop,

  • Bought a pair of trousers online (why), which fit (!) but also weren’t what I thought they’d look like based on the photo/description (sucker) but actually look similar to trousers I used to have years ago and are no longer available. I did wonder if the pants would have looked good with the billowy shirt (RIP). We’ll never know.

  • Even though I work from home, I am completely disoriented by Christmas and now New Year’s being in the middle of the week. Is it Sunday? Is it Wednesday? Who knows.

  • I am late with the edits. Perfect.
