Saapato Goin' South
Hello friends and a Happy New Year! Writing to you from my home in Upstate New York where we received record breaking snow this weekend. I’m in soup mode.
Dropping a quick note to share that I will be embarking on a tour next month with the formidable ambient pedal steel player Luke Schneider. I’ve been a fan of Luke’s for a while and when he reached out asking if I would hit the road with him it was a no brainer.
I’m extra stoked for this tour because it’s my first time playing each of the cities we’ve got booked. I love the southern US and can’t wait to bring some zones into new spaces. Do me a favor and tell your friends down there to come out to the gigs and please pass me some recommendations about how I should spend my free time. A few things that are drumming up a little extra excitement for me:
We’re playing at a public library in Alabama. I’m very excited for this, I love libraries. They’re one of the last public places where you can go socialize in public and not be expected to pay for something. Very important!
We’re playing with Joseph Allred in Cookeville, TN. I’ve been a huge fan of Joseph since I saw them play a few years back at a small music festival put on by Raven Sings the Blues.
We’re playing at the Ayurprana listening room in Asheville, NC. It’s a venue I’ve heard lore of and that I’ve been eager to visit for a long time.
Here’s the tour flyer:

And while I’ve got you here…
Tapes and T-shirts are still available for my most recent album In Alaska, which was released by AKP Recordings back in November. It’s a site specific album made in partnership with the Alaska State Park Service in and around the Juneau region. It’s a meditation on natural beauty, purity, and fragility, and destruction. Perfect for dark winter days.
Thanks for reading and see you out on the road.
