The People's Purse: Let The Community Drive Da Boat

Support Staff Updates:
The Richmond People’s Budget support staff would like to start by giving a quick shoutout to our amazing followers and avid readers. After last week’s newsletter, we received multiple offers to assist with the voting process and explore partnership opportunities.
We are always open to new collaborations, so if you or someone you know is interested in joining this incredible initiative, please fill out our interest form: RVAPB - Partnership Inquiry
Our team has been working diligently to prepare for March and April, by developing engagement plans and reaching out to potential partners to build momentum for the RVAPB. In addition to these preparations, staff and delegates continue to meet every Thursday to craft proposals that will ultimately appear on the ballots.
Steering Commission Updates:
Staff introduced the outlines for a ballot and online platform this week. Working with the Steering Commission, they are beginning the review process to improving the format, ease of accessibility, language access and transparency.
Budget Delegate Updates:
Budget Delegates began working on project proposals this week. After spending a month reviewing the ideas submitted in their districts, they have developed a list of their top ideas. They are currently using our project scoring guide to evaluate the equity and impact of their top ideas. Following this stage, ideas will be given a cost estimate and be subject to review by key stakeholders ahead of voting in April 2025.
