This week we wanted to take the time to thank our Delegates who have worked tirelessly to finalize the project proposals for the April ballots.
For the last two months, Thursday evenings for our delegates were spent taking 1900 ideas and breaking them down to craft into 10-15 proposals. In other cities in this country, this process takes at minimum three months, so to be given this timeline, the ever-evolving toolkit, limited resources, and limitless questions, was almost an impossible task.
As a pilot program we’ve been learning alongside the Delegates, and have found great value in this process. It has not been easy, but what we are starting—for the first time in Richmond is bringing communities together with the goal of giving the power of the purse to the people.
We are excitedly looking forward to the future and the voting phase taking place in the first two weeks of April.
The Richmond People’s Budget extends a sincere thank you to our Delegates. Together we strive for a greater Richmond that is possible through the commitment to this vision. Call To Action!
The Richmond People’s Budget team will be presenting on Monday, March 3rd at the Organizational Development Standing Committee at 4:00 PM. This will be our opportunity to address the Council, provide updates on our work and address needs moving forward. We are calling in all Richmond People’s Budget supporters to come and attend! Today Is The Last Day For “I Voted” Sticker Submissions!
Designs must say “I Voted” and include some reference to RVAPB or Richmond
Digital or hand-drawn designs are welcome (hand-drawn designs must be scanned or photographed clearly)
Submit your design by EOD February 28, 2025 via the Sticker Design Contest Form
