🌸 Spring Touring 🌸 New Single Up Now 🌸 Earth Flower 🌸

Two big things:
One: Earth Flower's first single is out today! You can stream it anywhere and follow us on bandcamp, where you can also preorder the digital album, which will be released in full on March 15. (Earth Flower is myself plus Phil Melanson and Sam Gendel)
Two: lots of show dates are coming up. I'm doing two back-to-back small tours with my trio (Nick Bisceglia and elie mcafee-hahn) (first with Bernice, then with Dear Nora, both in April in the Northeast), plus some other one-offs, all exciting! All the shows are listed in the second half of this email, and you can also follow me on Songkick and/or Bandsintown to stay up to date.

1. Earth Flower
I can't remember how much I told you about this band? I had the idea to ask Phil and Sam to record with me in January of 2020, and we had a whole plan for March 2020 to do it, but the pandemic came right then. At the time that didn't feel very good to cancel it, but ultimately I'm glad we did. What would have been recorded with them became Alive People, which was such a lively joy, and what we ended up doing in January 2023 was making a whole new strange and wonderful thing together.
I brought what I would describe as skeletons or shells of songs, and we as a trio improvised them into existence around those cores, sorta kinda. We recorded it with Kyle (Thomas) at his house in LA over the course of four/five days. Sam and Phil are such good musicians it kind of changed my life to play with them. Also, my sweetie Chris (Weisman) wrote the lyrics to the single, Nature's Piano 💖💖💖
I should mention that I never would have had the gumption to ask Phil and Sam to record with me normally, but the idea kind of zapped me while I was tripping on magic mushrooms; it really made me feel good to think about it, and so I followed the instinct...I could go on about that experience but, suffice it to say, it was yet more evidence that the human being is an antenna that knows what's right and good with more than just the brain. I think we can all trust ourselves a little more than we do, probably, as long as we're feeling things fully with the buzzing body.
As of now the album is just being released digitally, not on a label. The full album will come out on March 15th. I hope you enjoy it. You can follow us on Bandcamp to get updates and pre-order the digital album, or stream it anywhere. ☷🌸
