Leeann Wu on Netgalley!

Ruby Opal Mindy

Hello, friends!

If you’re a Netgalley person, The Glowing Life of Leeann Wu* is available for request now:

The Glowing Life of Leeann Wu | Mindy Hung | 9798892421690 | NetGalley

*Please note, these are uncorrected ARCs for now. Having handed in my copy edits not too long ago, believe me, I know just how many errors there are.

As always, you can pre-order print or ebooks here:

Bookshop US | Powell's | McNally Robinson | Queen Books |Book City | Amazon US  |  Amazon CA | B&N | Chapters-Indigo | Books A Million | Target | Hudson Booksellers | Kobo | Penguin Random House

Real talk: the ebooks for Leeann Wu are more expensive than my previous books have been. I promise to alert you to any sales that I find out about, but please also consider requesting the novel on Overdrive or Libby or in print through your public library. As I’ve mentioned before, there will be a spiffy library hardcover.

I said there would be neighbourhood cats at sign up, so here’s a really weird one. 14/10 for ears.

In other news, Alex (@thecoffinbookshelf on IG) won the last giveaway. Hope you enjoy your copy of Hard Knocks! Thanks everyone who entered.

Also, it’s Asian Heritage Month here in Canada, and what a perfect time to talk about Clean Breaks.

Clean Breaks features two MCs of Chinese and Taiwanese descent. Sarah, an ob/gyn, reconnects with her brother’s childhood best friend, Jake. Sarah’s brother doesn’t want his buddy getting involved with his sister because he thinks Jake’s too tender and nice for the likes of Sarah.

Sarah is admittedly sharp and judge-y. But she’s also loyal, funny and vulnerable, and it was great writing an FMC who is so very much herself. Kind social worker Jake is a great complement to her, and I especially enjoyed exploring Jake’s unconventional relationship with his minister father, which is one of mutual respect and equality even as they disagree on many issues.

You can get a copy here:

Bookshop | Amazon US | Amazon Canada | Amazon UK | Apple Books | Google Play | Kobo | Indigo | Canelo Blackwells US and Canada | Bookshop UK | Indigo | Canelo

Finally, I absolutely loved Jackie Lau’s Time Loops and Meet Cutes, and I got to talk with her and moderator Brittney Mmutle (@litandknits) for Under the Cover Books, Kansas City, on Instagram Live. We talked about fantasy set in a recognizable contemporary world (and Leeann ofc), favourite tropes, and eating the time loop dumpling. Here’s our convo.

That’s all for now! Enjoy the rest of May!
