Hi!

The eagle-eyed of you will have noticed this email didn’t go out at 8am this morning. And instead is going out at roughly 9:40am this Tuesday morning.

This is because I’ve been away Thursday - Monday and only just got back. And I normally write these newletters on a Friday, so I can rewrite it at a later date if I regret anything I said.

That being said. I’ve got lots of gig admin to get through and only 27 mins on the clock to type it all out. So strap in fellas.

The Gigs

Over the past couple of weeks we’ve been offered a number of gigs, which I’m all very excited for.

Let me take you through them one by one.

Gig 1 - 30/09/26. Café Blah. Manchester.

The first gig - and the next one we’re playing - is on the 30th of September in Manchester at Café Blah.

We are supporting The Hobknobs - a great Dutch band with members from The Klittens & Lewsburg - who are also both great Dutch bands.

Doors are at 8pm, but you can hang around in the upstairs bar before then.

Make sure you get there early, cause my new favourite band Tinfoil Underwear will be opening the show.

Shouting out to the eagle-eyed of you again: yes this is the last Wednesday of the month. And yes this means we will not be playing the Golden Ball this month.

But we hope to be back at the end of October for our annual Halloween Jamboree.

Gig 2 - 03/10/2026. Mabgate Bleach. Leeds.

The second gig is a fundraiser for our pals, Private Regcords. This will be at Mabgate Bleach in Leeds on the 3rd of October. I don’t know the timings yet because I don’t think it’s been announced yet.

We are opening the floor for a Pavement/Silver Jews bandeoke. Which is very up my street. We might even learn a Silver Jews song for it.

The Fool - who you might know from R&FatGB* #44 - are also playing. It’s gonna be a sick night.

And we’re very happy to helping Private Regcords out who are doing great things in Leeds and beyond.

Gig 3 - 17/10/26. Wharf Chambers. Leeds.

I am excited about all of these gigs, but this one takes the prize for most excited.

On the 17th of October we will be the main support for The Nature Kids at the Wharf Chambers in Leeds.

The Nature Kids are one of my all-time faves. We’ve been playing with them since the band started, though it feels like its been a while since we’ve been on the same bill!

So I’m super excited to be back with them for this album fundraiser all-dayer.

YORK PEOPLE

As well as these gigs I will be playing a solo set at the Angel on The Green this Sunday. This will be a very chill affair, but I’m going to take it as an opportunity to test out some new songs. So if you fancy seeing that - I would fancy seeing you!

Recommendations

HAVING A SHOWER - after camping in a field for four days its really great to come home and have a shower.

MUSIC - music is really great. Try listening to some of it today!

CD UPDATE

I haven’t recieved the CD sleeves yet so I am going to call the company I ordered them off of today.

If you ordered a CD of Go On! Roll That Old Boulder Away, all I can say is: I am sorry and I will get the CDs to you as soon as possible.
