Common Fates
I understand that you are preoccupied with wishing to know what became of your own ecumene, of Humanity on Earth. Of course you wish to see your own entry into the Register, where we shall uniquely identify and document Humanity’s passage. And that you are still uncertain and unclear about the specifics of your own identity as a representative thereof. And that you are curious about the curious names of these alien ecumenes. All of this will be explained. Please trust that there is a well-studied, proven, appropriate order in which knowledge is to be unveiled, to show maximum care and respect to a representative like you, and your capacity to give admittance to it.
With that in mind — The next bone-white volume I have retrieved for you collects further common categories of fate.
Pathological Materialism, in which a world succumbs to the accumulation and glorification of molecules in certain high-status arrangements, so completely as to neglect matters of the spirit.
Its counterpart Pathological Asceticism, in which a world turns so inward that it forgets (or rejects) that it is made of stuff, and that transcendence still needs a physical substrate to occur on.
Deleterious Religion, by which a world allows all manner of semi-random stories conceived in a semi-conscious spiritual realm to become factual claims about the physical realm, leading to mass behavior disconnected from reliable explanations of reality.
And of course Natural Cataclysm, including Impact, Deluge, Desiccation, Suffocation, Eruption, Inundation, Wrack, Glaciation, and Sundry.
These white volumes compile and summarize such common fates for ecumenes across your observable universe. I have drawn them from the Ecumenical Library, which you will be invited to visit after appropriate further preparations. Of course, when it does occur, your visit, as all of your experiences, will be mediated by my narration, and will take place in your imagination.
Please accept my highest regards,
