β’ It's Non-Binary Awareness Week! 11th to 17th July. This week is dedicated to those whose gender identity doesn't sit within the binary (of man/woman). They may identify with neither, both or vary between genders. Friendly reminder that non-binary folks may have different definitions of what non-binary means to them.

Awareness (noun) /ΙΛwer.nΙs/
Awareness is the state of knowing something, such as the awareness that the sun comes up every morning.
The adjective aware gets turned into a noun when the suffix -ness is added, so awareness is the state of being aware, or having knowledge of something. Its roots are Germanic, and come from the Old English wær meaning "wary, cautious." Awareness can be something you notice, want to tell others about, or already know.
You could "raise awareness" of a cause, like issues faced by non-binary folks around the world.

1. Introduce yourself with your name and pronouns.
2. Find reliable sources to educate yourself on non-binary experiences.
3. Instead of addressing people with binary language, try more inclusive alternatives.
