This week’s word comes from Steven Universe ⭐. In this episode, Steven and Connie get together for fusion training. During this training, something makes them lose focus and unfuse. Connie runs away, visibly upset. She then explains how she had beat up a stranger. This person had accidentally bumped into her and caused her training instincts to kick in. Steven reminds her she did not mean to hurt that person.
A crystal 💎 comes on the scene and explains that in order to maintain their fusion; they must confront and understand their feelings, so Steven and Connie fuse and begin meditating. The next day, Connie describes how attempting to ignore her conflict only made her feel worse about it. This episode is titled “Mindful Education.”
Cambridge Dictionary defines mindful /ˈmaɪndfəl/ as being deliberately aware of your body, mind, and feelings in the present moment, in order to create a feeling of calm. This is probably easier said than done, as we often get caught up in our emotions, our thoughts, our expectations, and the world. But know something, it’s human to have ups and downs and emotional changes. Being mindful is a journey and each bit of mindfulness you incorporate into your life, no matter how small, is valid and we’re here to celebrate it with you 💛.
This week I’d like you to ask yourself: am I giving myself time to play? If so, are you sharing this (virtual) play space with others?
We hope you still give yourself time to play and share this with others. Play should be a safe space for all, regardless of age or experience. Feel free to share your answer(s), we’d love to hear from you 🙋🏻♀️.
