Joy /dĘÉÉŞ/
Joy is the emotion of pleasure and happiness. Joy can also be the very thing that delights you. You might find great joy in learning new vocabulary. Or not.
Joy can also be used as a verb. You can joy in the fact that you have no meetings for the day. Or you might want to rejoice when a two-day weekend turns into a three-day weekend. Itâs a real joy to use the word as an adjective, too. For example, receiving an email from a long-lost friend makes you extremely joyful.

⢠"Steven Universe is a coming-of-age story told from the perspective of Steven, the youngest member of the Crystal Gems, a team of magic guardians who protect the planet Earth." (Wiki)
This animated series impacted all of us in different ways. It caused tears and pain, but it also caused realization and joy. Steven Universe will forever be remembered as a show that, I believe, created a historic win for the LGBTQI+ community.
âIn a strange and mystical land, a young boy discovers a mysterious creature with which he forms a deep, unbreakable bond.â (PlayStation)
The outstanding creative vision in The Last Guardian left me in complete awe. Honestly, I canât even begin to describe all the different feelings and emotions this game engendered. Thank you, Fumito Ueda, for this extraordinary story.

The first time I heard the term maker was when I started tinkering with a computer. As a craft, making is not geared towards a particular type of personâanyone can be a maker. Makers believe that if you can imagine it, you can make it.
This is how I discovered maker education and how this approach can be used as a tool for equity and liberation in the classroom.
Have you ever tried learning through making? Feel free to share your answer with us.
