Lewis Baltz Inspired Photos
The form of photography and movement through an image
Lewis Baltz was an American Photographer known for his street photography. His work included formalism, line, and perspective that lead the audience through a visual documentary of the subjects he photographed. My teacher recently complimented some of my last works that I took for my finals in Language of Photography. I didn’t expect her to esteem me to such high regards as Baltz and began to study some of his designs.
I am so much more encouraged to keep going with my work. I really enjoy photographing on the streets on my travels and back home. This last finals assignment really forced me to look into the details that others don’t really catch at first glance and pushes me outside of my comfort zone to train my eye artistically.
Photography is already a therapeutic exercise on its own. So, I like to take it with me for my daily strolls around the neighborhood when I step out of the house from my busy schedule for a photowalk. I really enjoy taking my camera with me to explore what we miss at first glance and that is what I tried to capture for my final project.
