Today marks the first day of Hispanic Heritage Month.

As a second-generation Hispanic American living and growing up in Florida I have influences from both Puerto Rico and Colombia. These are two of the most beautiful Hispanic cultures out of the 21 Hispanic countries in the world.

I’m proud to say that I’m Hispanic because of the beautiful people who form and color our world. With warm and friendly smiles many Hispanics gladly welcome other cultures who want to curiously learn about their cultures. We have amazing food, music, and art. We are all special and distinct in our own way.
