Hello.
Let's start with some correspondence from the lovely correspondents.
Olivier Legris writes: “Regarding the ”special screening“, there is one in Paris for the Rocky Horror Picture Show, where not only you can sing but also actors are dressed up like characters and interact with the public. Also you’re asked to come with rice and water. The rice to throw in the room when the wedding scene happens in the movie, and water when the raining scene is happening.”
(I don’t think I’ve ever seen Rocky Horror. Maybe I should fix this)
Giles Anderton writes “The crowd joining in at cinemas thing used to happen occasionally at an arthouse cinema in Perth, Australia in the mid 90s. I specifically remember life of Brian and Withnail but they did it with quite a few films, dressing up was encouraged.”
(But, but, outside? In Australia? What about all the deadly animals and insects?)
Frank Jania writes: “Alamo Drafthouse (a small chain of cinemas in the states) does a movie quote-a-long every so often. I don’t live near one so I’ve never been, but it sounds wonderfully fun.”
(I’ve been to the Alamo Drafthouse in Austin, and it’s one of my favourite cinemas)
Liz Conlan writes: “The Prince Charles Cinema off Leicester Square is doing a Withnail quote along on 1st June”
(Yay! Thanks, Liz)
On with the show.
Long Exposure Neon Waterfalls
“The duo dropped high-powered Cyalume glow sticks in a variety of colors into various waterfalls in Northern California and then made exposures varying from 30 seconds to 7 minutes to capture the submerged trails of light as the sticks moved through the current”
