Sept. 27th DDR A3 Score Report
I went to a different Round 1 out-of-town today (well, yesterday: I began writing late last night and went to sleep unable to publish this) to get some Drummania in and run a few errands. In doing so, I got to connect with local players and get some highlighting scores!
Level-14 Score Ceiling Raise!
Starting from the ceiling, I raised my level-14 score ceiling to a 14p PFC on Come Back to Me (Feel It) ESP 14 (previously 17p on perditus paradisus DSP)! Converting the SDP on this is definitely achievable with focused work, but I won’t be immediately prioritizing that. Still, though, getting this score is empowering: the #pearl chat on the LIFE4 Discord abounds with capable mid-range timing players, some of whom can SDP regularly 13’s, 14’s, and sometimes 15’s, so to be able to progress toward matching those achievements is self-motivating.
Two New Level-15 PFC’s!
Momentum to convert new level-14 PFC’s today was nonexistent, so I pivoted and worked on converting new level-15 PFC’s today. I got two!
#21: Nanahoshi - 3.5x, DT+0.0. One try today. The 24p PFC on it sets my score ceiling! It paid off to know the rhythmically difficult parts of the chart in advance.
#22: Oh! My! Lovely! Sweety! Darling! - 3.25x, DT+0.0. Two tries: on the first, I got 4 Greats and 1 Miss on P1 with the Miss due to a pad error, so I switched over to P2 to run it back the next set and converted the PFC! It is very on sync. I had no problems negotiating the Marvelous window given I had no trouble meeting the 170bpm footspeed requirement. Getting this marks PFC’ing all level 15.10 charts in A20+ on 3icecream (version 5, revision 1)!
Having earned 22 level-15 PFC’s, I think I can finally submit for LIFE4 v5.0 Pearl II (A20+)! I last ranked up six months ago to Pearl I on April 1st, so I’m eager to close out this chapter in my progression now if not soon.
Wait, Drummania?

This late October, I’m attending Mistake on the Lake 5 in Mentor near Cleveland, Ohio. Although I almost exclusively play DDR, I wanted to support the event by signing up for one of the hand games. This year, Gitadora Fuzz-Up, a guitar (“GuitarFreaks”) and drum (“DrumMania”) rhythm game (think Rock Band) was added to the games list, so I signed up to play drums as some of my friends regularly play the game, and I wanted to be able to connect with them over a different rhythm game.
Unfortunately, as a result of putting off submitting qualifiers to focus on other stuff, when I came around to getting ready to play, it turned out that, of the three Gitadora drumkits within a 90-minute drive of me, two were unavailable for play, including the Round 1 I normally frequent. Nevertheless, I got it done, and it felt good compared to last time to better understand the placement of the drums so that I could pass the Level 1 charts with fewer Misses than before.
I look forward in several weeks’ time to jam out with people and see how it’s properly done :)
3icecream Export
Anyway, that’s a short wrap for my DDR session. Here’s the 3icecream export. Until next time!
