2025 Wrap-Up: Yearly Review Prompts + Advent of Growth Recap

A cozy end-of-year newsletter to close out 2025: an Advent of Growth recap, my full 2025 in Review post (including stats) and a simple yearly review template with reflection questions to help you reset and plan for 2026.

Hey friends 👋

I hope you had a lovely Christmas break with your loved ones, or a few quiet, cozy days if you're not celebrating. Either way, it's kind of wild how the year is already over again. These in-between days feel like the perfect moment to zoom out, take a breath and reflect on what happened, what we learned and what we want to take into the next year.

In that same spirit, here are two blog posts that might help (and maybe inspire) you to do exactly that:

✍️ Blog Post: Advent of Growth 2025: Summary
Instead of sending one more long email with days 15–24, I wrote a small blog post that sums up all 24 days, with links to every video. Perfect to watch "between the years".

✍️ Blog Post: 2025 in Review
My yearly review is live: key moments, achievements, top 3s, learnings and reflections, plus a few fails, mistakes and regrets. And yes, there are stats too (with a comparison to 2024) for the nerds out there.

Do Your Own Yearly Review

In my 2025 in Review post, I already shared my own learnings, reflections and takeaways.
So instead of another "insights" section here, I thought it might be more useful to give you a simple template you can use for your own yearly review. Grab a notebook, open a blank note and take an hour to answer the following questions thoroughly.

  • Calendar overview: Name each month and jot down what defined it.
  • What was the best month? Why?
  • What was the worst month? Why?
  • What was the most beautiful moment of the year?
  • What were my Top 3s? (e.g. book, series, movie, concert, artist, meal, purchase, clothing item, trip, date, ...)
  • What do I want to keep exactly as it is?
  • What would I change if I had to start over again?
  • What did I neglect this year?
  • What am I especially proud of?
  • What did I learn (about myself)?
  • What would I like to tell my self from one year ago?

And if you're already feeling the itch to plan ahead: in the next newsletter, I'll share a couple of practical tips for yearly planning and how to set goals you can actually follow through on in 2026.

Monthly Favourites

🎶 Song: Pomme – Ce garçon est une ville
I love Johnny Flynn and this cover hits right home as it's a scout group from my own organization performing it.

📚 Book: S.A. Chakraborty – The Empire of Gold
Another fantasy read with lots of oriental folklore that differentiates it from the typical western fantasy stories.

📽️ Video: Sitting At Strangers Tables..
I don't know. This made me laugh way too much. This dude really nailed the performance. It's this kind of video where simply watching it hurts you so much.

Alright. That's it. That's 2025.
Thanks so much for checking in and all the support.
See you next year!

Best,
Robin
