Some Dreams Never Fade...
Hey dreamers,
This is the first issue of the Enter Somnus newsletter, and if you’re here, it means you’re as fascinated by dreams as I am. Since I was a kid, I’ve had vivid, often terrifying dreams—some of them more real than reality itself. A few of those dreams inspired the book I’m writing now. And I know I’m not alone.
I had a dream when I was 4 or 5 where I threw up my bones while a demon swung from a chandelier. I still remember it like it was yesterday.
Some dreams never fade. What’s a dream you still remember? (Hit reply and tell me, I actually want to know.)
In Enter Somnus, dreams are more than just fleeting images—they are places. And sometimes, you don’t get to leave when you wake up. Here’s a quick teaser:
Excerpt from Enter Somnus
The figure turned slowly, their face still obscured by the hood, but as they lifted their head, Alex caught a glimpse—two eyes, glowing faintly, cold and unblinking. They stared directly at him, cutting through the dimness with an intensity that froze Alex in place.
The figure raised a hand, pressing it against the rippling door. A faint hum resonated through the air, like a distant vibration beneath Alex’s feet, and a sudden chill prickled his skin. For a moment, nothing happened. Then, without breaking eye contact, the door slowly swung open to reveal only darkness beyond—endless, consuming black.
A whisper echoed faintly in the air, though Alex couldn’t make out the words. The figure stepped into the void, vanishing into the shadows. The door began to close behind them, slowly but surely sealing the way.
Panic surged through Alex. He darted forward, reaching out, but just as the door was about to shut completely, a hand emerged—pale, long fingers outstretched. A glowing symbol, a circle intersected by a vertical line, burned softly on the palm.
The sight jolted Alex. He stared at his own hand, expecting to see something, a mark of some kind—but it was empty.
The last light flickered off, and the room was plunged into darkness.
I’ll be sending updates like this once a month, with more sneak peeks and insights into the world of Enter Somnus. If you’re on X, let’s talk about dreams over there too: https://bit.ly/43chKPU
Until next time—sweet dreams.
