the relief and grief of adjusting from not-having to having

Do you have a group of folks who want to learn the Resilience Toolkit? in addition to my own newsletter, I maintain the regular newsletter for my family’s bi-annual reunion, along with similar services other more formal clients ☺️ If you’ve been wanting to get away from MailChimp, ConstantContact, Gmail, etc. for your newsletter—or just want support with a new/established one, I can send over a quote for what a project / ongoing support for that looks like.

♋🌑 july new moon card pulls and reflections
🍭 5 of Disks - Worry
Arcana Iris Sacra by Tina Gong
card summary: “material or physical challenges. hard times. threat to security.”
What does this card say about what I’m ready to release this month?
This is the the closest I’ve been to experiencing long-term housing security in the almost 18 months that I’ve been in the Netherlands. We’re not fully out of the woods yet, but things are coming together. We’re no longer in the frantic search for housing. I have the luxury of a dishwasher, a bath tub, and I’ve deep-cleaned our used washer to my satisfaction so that’s ready too. This month, I’m making the final payment on my medical bills from last year. I can release the worry for a bit. I can and should rest.
6️⃣🪄 6 of Wands - Victory
Arcana Iris Sacra by Tina Gong
card summary: “victory over conflicts. public recognition. confidence for other endeavors.”
What does this card say about the skills I could develop to support me in the current moment?
Beyond resting, I can and should celebrate the achievements we’ve built thus far. We did that! We asked for help! We held ourselves and each other through wounds, harm, despair, grief, and the constricting anxiety of uncertainty in many of our most basic needs, and we are still surviving together. Not only that, but we’re finally getting to dip our toes into that first bit of relief beyond survival. I remind myself to not take for granted the skill, experience, and bonds that have crystallized along the way. In the grand scheme of doing what I can when I can with who is around, underestimating my skills, talents, and capacities still subjects me to working with inaccurate data. If celebrating this one instance is a stepping stone to fully acknowledging the wisdoms that I’ve cultivated thus far, I need to get to stepping.
👸🏻🥛 Princess of Chalices
Arcana Iris Sacra by Tina Gong
card summary: “fantasy. self-exploration. intuition. kindness.”
What does this card say about what I’m healing, calling in, or moving toward this month?
Emotions that previously felt too overwhelming to process now have more space, stability, and foundation to surface for air. The parts of myself whose intensity of tenderness felt like too much to expose to the elements of our situations thus far have been hidden, huddled together away from consciousness, weeping, shuddering, weathering. Not abandoned, but still vulnerable. But the emergence is triumphant and full of possibility as we get to explore what it could be like for these parts to live closer to the light of day, and to impart their softness to our new space.
🎴🎴🎴 Taking in the spread as a whole
If we aren’t already through the most battering parts of the storm, then finding shelter has at least made it easier to enjoy the rain, clouds, and thunder from being cozy and warm inside a place that is starting to feel like ours. It seems wild to be looking forward to autumn and all the gatherings, celebrations, and play on the horizon beyond summer. It is okay for me to finally think about planting some roots could look like. I can trust in my accomplishments. And I can finally start tending to the tolls it took to get here.
Thanks for reading, wishing you moments of ritual, rest, and restoration.
