A World of Wild Weather for the Killerpuppytails horde
We open on the writer Risa Wolf staring out a six-paned window onto wildly-blowing snow
Hi hello hey everyone -
Lots of folks I know have been affected by the weather the past two weeks. I'm in the same boat; the above photo was taken a half an hour prior to writing this newsletter. We're supposed to be leaving where we are tonight, but this snow - and the wind that has come with it - is not showing any signs of letting up.
If you're also in a place where the weather is making life stressful, difficult, or downright painful, I'm sending my love.
Any News?
Not really news per se, but I wanted to remind people about awards, because I was informed that my blog post Good Omens 2: The Clues Within the Clues Within the Clues is actually eligible for Fan Writing or Related Work award categories for the Nebulas and Hugos. I'm not sure WHY I was informed of this, but hey, why not share?
Additional reminder: my stories Tigers for Sale and In the Shelter of Ghosts are eligible for Nebula Awards in the category of Short Story, and the nominating period is underway! (Link access requires SFWA membership.)
So Nothing Else Exciting?
Yeah, sorry. It was a super-stressful December so I'm trying really hard to NOT be exciting right now. But I will say that I'm participating in friendly writing competition that a dear friend is co-moderating, and despite my stress level, I'm having fun coming up with ideas for it. I'm hoping to share some of these ideas with you soon.
In the meantime, I'm curious what people like to hear about in newsletters. I'm debating retitling this newsletter tl;dr there's a puppy at the end but I know some folks aren't necessarily fans of pet pics. So if you're up for it - and no pressure - let me know what you like to read about!
Is That It, Then?
Of course not! Here's a puppy (or two):
With love and weirdness,
