Good Morning. Hello. How are you? #1808
Choose life.

Good morning nope sorry good afternoon greetings from Laguardia. Look at these sheep lined up for the Delta Sky Lounge.

The Sky Lounge is just massive corporate expense account arbitrage. Get your work to pay for the lounge, sidle up to the trough and eat and drink as much free food and booze as you can. In the old days you could argue the seats were at least more comfortable, but the rest of LGA is probably more comfortable than the lounge, now. And way less crowded. Nope nope nope.
Just saw a young boy on a scooter that was built into a rolling suitcase. They should make those for adults. Pretty rad.

Anyway I went to an oonce oontz techno rave show last night at Knockdown Center and it was fucking rad. Knockdown Center is a great venue, even if its in the middle of nowhere. Went with my friend Tom, who loves to dance, so that was awesome. So much dancing. We both danced the entire time. I got so hot and sweaty my shirt was dripping.
Man what a surreal week. Last Saturday I was crying along with a bunch of teenage girls to Olivia Rodrigo and Sara McLachlan and this week I was crying along with a bunch of middle-aged men to Underworld. Everyone was so friendly. Friendly people love Underworld. So many middle-aged dad divorces. Just the best.
How is it Underworld sort of sound like normal boring techno but are anything but normal boring techno? How are they so fucking good live? It is nuts! It is nuts! It makes no sense! It’s two seventy-plus year-old men standing on stage behind a table, while slightly wobbling. Nothing makes sense! It is so good! It was so good! I am alive! Alive!

Excellent people watching. Lotta Asian girls. Middle aged men and packs of Asian girls. Vey mysterious. Only one Trainspotting T-shirt, but it was a good one. Choose life. I counter-programmed again with a Slift T-shirt. No one was impressed. But they were still very friendly.
After the show Tom and I walked like an hour towards Williamsburg but never really made it all the way there. Eventually found a bar named after a Phil Collins song and sat down and talked about life and love and family. This was another great reason to go with Tom. That guy is a great conversationalist and I never get to see enough of him.
The bartender’s name was Richard, like yours truly. He’s the third Richard in his family, like yours truly. BUT he is a third, whereas I am a Jr. because my father and I share a different last name from my grandfather. And even more shockingly, this dude knew he wanted to be a Dick since he was a kid. I mean, he’s gay, so maybe that had something to do with it.
He’s gay and black and was a kid named Dick and he said he wasn’t made fun of at all about it so maybe there is some good in the world after all.
My flight is delayed an hour and I am going to miss dinner with my daughter and I am very sad. This was a day off from work and I have blown it at Laguardia. This would be kinda fun if I was still working on that book about Laguardia, but ever since the renovation I have not found a way in to completing the book, alas.
BUT I will do a bunch of chores for the next three days and I am very excited about it and I will regale you with thrilling tales of carpentry, come Tuesday.
Have a lovely holiday weekend. Make it home safe.
