New project: Dirt Nap
Hi,
I’m starting a low-frequency newsletter to share new projects and occasional news (once or twice a year). I’ve added you because we’ve crossed paths through art in the past. And of course, feel free to unsubscribe at any time.
I’m writing to share a new project that’s been about a year and a half in the making.
Dirt Nap is composed of one-minute excerpts from 46 naps I took in nature across the western United States between September 2024 and January 2026, sequenced in the order they were recorded.

Portland, Oregon
The first exhibition of Dirt Nap just opened at the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art at Portland State University, as part of Mapping Familiar Territories, Charting New Paths, curated by Alexandra Terry.
Jan 20 – April 25 (opening reception Jan 29)
Portland, Maine
In March, Dirt Nap will be exhibited at the Institute of Contemporary Art at the Maine College of Art & Design, in the exhibition Everyday Is All There Is, curated by Roz Crews and Iris Williamson.
March 6 – April 18
Tempe, Arizona
Also in March, Dirt Nap will be shown on the 70-foot outdoor screen at the MIX Center at Arizona State University as part of Restoration / Regeneration, the New Media Caucus Symposium, curated by Kimberly Lyle and Kat Mustatea.

Salt Lake City, Utah
Lastly, my 2018 project Western Fronts is currently on view at the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art, as part of Altered States in the Acid West.
