Hellloooo from our new studio! We moved in last weekend! Weâre still waiting for a bunch of stuff! And it will take some time to make it feel like âhomeââbut different from home, since thatâs where we moved from. Iâm super excited about the massive whiteboard! Ideating. Planning. Space. Freedom! Chantelle is pumped about the couch we set up yesterdayâafternoon naps!
One of the things weâll be adjusting to is the separation between work and home. After working from home for 8 years, I expect this to take longer than a few days. Iâm hoping it will help make us more effective and creative at work, and more relaxed and gezellig (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gezelligheid) (a rad Dutch word) at home. Environment plays a big role in what you do and how you do it.
One of my favourite things about the move so far has been my daily commuteâa cycle along the Zaan river. Itâs a really good way to start and end the dayâespecially when the weather is warm. Also, we have a studio mateâa robot vacuum cleaner. His name is Botty.
