** Well, hello there!
Itâs almost summer (officially) in the Northern Hemisphere! And the reason Iâve been so quiet is that, besides attending the Pictoplasma character conference in Berlin, Iâve been working on a new class called Animate with Depth: Cameras, Lights and 3D Layers in After Effects. And now itâs live and ready for you to watch. (http://skl.sh/2s69v3T) Let me tell you more.
First of all, itâs my longest class (over 3 hours long) and it took a butt-load of time to create. I hope you like it. The class covers 3D layers, cameras, lights, and animating all of these in space. The class is thorough and split into 22 videos. I cover a lot! I show how I play and make decisions while animating as well as how I solve problems â one of the most important skills you can have! The class also includes time-lapses of me working, a bit of theory, and a lot of tips and tricks.
Knowing how to do 3D in After Effects will bring your flat-designs to life, and itâs not such a big jump to go from Illustrator or Photoshop to After Effects.
