My Daily Task
Just returned from a mural in Brighton, I've been crushing daily goals and embracing simple living!
Hey! Hopefully your inbox is quieter now that Black Friday is done. My inbox was full for days.
It’s been 3 weeks since I left for a 5-day holiday to Brighton & Hove with my family.
While I was there I painted and doodled my biggest mural yet. The mural is in a coffee shop called SPRO in Hove, The UK. It opens mid-Jan 2025.
I was in my flow-zone for 3 days.
While I painted I didn’t think about anything else.
I was painting creatures and characters that people would enjoy while drinking coffee.

It felt so good to be away from the screen for so long—and to be moving while working! I was upside down, crouching, up and down ladders, and walking from our AirBnb to the shop and back.
Sure, it was tiring.
But it was simple living.
And rewarding.
In three days I accomplished a big thing.
It got me thinking: what if I worked that hard every day on one task? What would I be able to do working like that?
So, for the past 10 days I’ve been trying it out. Sometimes the main focus of the day has been part of something bigger. Other times it’s been a whole thing itself.
Here’s what I’ve done in the last 2 weeks:
Created a new Gradient Maps in Adobe Photoshop class.
Created a downloadable Watercolour Gradients asset.
Updated my portfolio with the SPRO mural.
Updated my portfolio with the Avalanche 9000 poster I did in August.
Recorded the audio for Unleash Your Creativity (we’re turning it into an audio book).
Recorded some extra bits for the TapTapKaboom podcast.
Designed and ordered new phone covers for myself and my wife.
Doodled on a ton of Kor water bottles at their PR event in Amsterdam.
Finished coding an app that I can use to create pixel art with.

Maybe this is the normal output of someone without ADHD. But for me, this approach has been extraordinary.
This change in how I’m working pairs nicely with something else I’m trying out: loving action rather than results.
P.S. My big thing for today was adding the Avalanche 9000 poster to my portfolio. Sending this newsletter was a bonus!
Big loves
Rich!
