Let Me Catch You Up: Studio Moves, Writing, Babies, and AI
I'm moving to a new home studio, expecting baby number two, and diving deep into writing!
When you haven’t talked to someone for ages and they ask what you’ve been up to it can be hard to tell them much. You either have to be like, “Everything’s fine. Life’s good.” or you need to schedule a coffee or a call. I’m gonna try tell you what’s up in a short email. Here goes.
We decided to move out of our studio on Dec 31. By Jan 31 we’d moved out, sold a bunch of stuff, and our house had gobbled the rest up. I’m working from home—in our attic. our house is now the best of the house and studio. It feels like our house got upgraded.

One of the reasons we made this decision is because we’re expecting our second kid in the next month or so. I was spending more and more time at home, and I expect to be spending even more time at home after baby boy is born. See how I slipped in another piece of news while still discussing the first?
This is going to change things. Creating video content is going to be more tricky. So, instead of sticking to creating online video classes, and vlogging—which I tried for 10 days—I’ve started writing.
I can write when the house needs to be quiet. I can write when the house isn’t quiet. I can write in a rocking chair, holding a baby. I can write in the train. I can write anywhere. I wrote a lot of my Perfect 100 Day Project book with my new-born daughter strapped to my chest. I also feel like I have a lot to write about.
I’m not abandoning the idea of video, I’m simply committing more to writing—and then creating video stuff that needs to be in video format, and carousel stuff that needs to be in carousel format.
I’m writing every day, and publishing when I finish a piece. Here’s what I’ve written this year:
AI Art Isn’t the Problem—The Story Is: Why Stories Matter More Than Skill in The Art World
Why You Need To Do It Yourself: How To Develop Deep Understanding, Empathy, and Respect
You’re Doing Focus Wrong: There’s an Easier Way To Focus Than Using Self-Control and Willpower
Why Your Customer’s Last Impression Defines Your Business—and How to Get It Right
These are all on Substack. You can also find them all on Medium.
I’ve also started learning AI by doing. A month ago I began creating AI images with Midjourney. It’s been harder than expected. But I’m learning a lot and have begun creating some interesting, weird, and beautiful images.

What are you up to?
Have you been using AI at all?
Big loves ❤️
