OpenAI ships ChatGPT Images 2.5 with API Flare and Sunburst
On 8 September 2026 OpenAI said ChatGPT Images 2.5 is rolling out to all ChatGPT, ChatGPT Work, and Codex users, with two API models: GPT-Image-2.5 Flare and GPT-Image-2.5 Sunburst.
