i'm moving newsletter platforms!
hey there beloved!
i hope that U are having an auspicious Saturn-day. there’s no official issue this month, but i just wanted to inform U that i’m switching from Substack to Buttondown to publish my writing moving forward.
where U can find my upcoming content:
returning to the Source • Buttondown
welcome to returning to the Source by me, dkéama. i’m fascinated with the ways alchemy, divinity, and Black feminism(s) are intimately enmeshed. here, i’ll turn my mirror towards U and share my reflections <3

if you’re already subscribed to me here and want to continue receiving what i share, no need to do anything! i’ve just imported your contact information over on Buttondown! just make sure to peep ya spam filters so that my newsletters make it to the top of your inbox in the future. and as always, share the link around with any & all of your loved ones <3
why i’m switching: i recently learned that Substack takes money from smaller creators using the paid feature and uses those funds to pay violent TERFs in the six figures, so it feels more responsible (to me) to commit to an alternative, even though i put my content out for free (for now).

Then Substack posted an attempt to explain/defend their pro model:
Since Jude’s post, the ppl they mentioned in it have sent targeted harassment campaigns at them.

We pay writers in an effort to recoup more money later, but these writers do not write for us is a hell of a logical leap, you almost gotta hand it to them. https://t.co/cOiGWSobGe https://t.co/igWXNZ9XTki look forward to sharing my work with U on what i hope is a more ethically-run newsletter platform! (also, wish me luck as i try to figure out how to migrate my past writing over to Buttondown) sending U ease & warmth from my pocket of the universe.
until next time,
d.
