Residents' Forum outcome: traffic & parking
Marlow is an attractive destination – with beautiful views and park, interesting shops and a wide range of cafés and restaurants. Everything is within walking distance. From the comments made during the October Forum, Marlovians value these attributes and the vibrant atmosphere of the town centre.
It is important that the town thrives economically and for this to happen, the shops and amenities must be readily accessible, to both residents and visitors.
The appeal of the shops, pubs, cafés, park etc. means that Marlow is a popular destination for residents and visitors.
Concerns transpired during the Forum that traffic threatens to detract from Marlow’s appeal. People were also unhappy from a driver perspective, with congestion, lack of parking and potholes being mentioned by many.
The consensus was on the need for better traffic management and parking solutions.
As residents, we could influence this situation promoting access to our lovely town through means other than cars such as train, buses, bicycles and boats... allowing for easier flow of people, and ultimately, enjoying the town even more!
