Residents' Forum outcome: a Marlow Community Hub?
From the comments made during the Marlow Residents’ Forum, the overall sentiment towards community is highly positive, with residents expressing pride in their town's friendly and inclusive atmosphere. However, there’s a recognition that better coordination and expanded activities for youth could further strengthen this community bond.
Many groups highlighted the strong sense of community, describing it as welcoming, friendly, and supportive. Residents appreciated that people greet each other, and there's an atmosphere of friendliness and inclusivity.
There are many opportunities for social interaction through local clubs, events, and societies, which contribute to a vibrant and connected town.
There was a desire, however, to see more community-led initiatives, especially those that bridge the gap between generations. Some groups suggested mentoring programs and increased youth engagement to strengthen the sense of community further. Overall, people talked about a Marlow Community Hub for all ages, interests, abilities and skills.
This is something we would like to explore further with residents, who would be willing to run another forum, just focused on how to create this hub that was called for by many voices a month ago.
