hi friends!

waaaay back in 2024 (also, I know i’m a few months late to this but, it’s 2026??? I can’t get over it) I did a talk for on your face called ‘embracing messy joy’

in the talk I use my own practice as a road map to explore how we can overcome obstacles and infuse our creative practices with messy joy!

some of the things I talk about include: embracing imperfections, navigating creative roadblocks, finding our inspiration (and what to do with it once we’ve found it), being kind to ourselves with things don’t turn out how we expected, and how we can bring more joy and fun into our creative practice.

this isn’t the talk I would do in 2026 - I feel like i’ve grown and changed a LOT in the past 18 months - but I had some really nice feedback after it so I thought i’d pop it here as a little gift to you, in case anything resonates.

take what works, and throw the rest vigorously and violently in the bin!!!!

puppet workshop!

thanks to everyone who came along to the puppet workshop last weekend. I had to delay it by a week due to illness - cue a lot of fretting about letting people down, and trying to hold onto the idea that being freelance means doing things that work for me and not just shoehorning myself into the relentless capitalist nightmare of WORK EVEN IF YOU ARE SICK which is - DING DING DING - a bad idea.

but! everyone turned up the following week and made some INCREDIBLE PUPPETS!

i’m in the process of planning and organising some new workshops - including making giant head masks!
