hello friends!
it has been a minute. i have some exciting things in the works, but nothing i can share juuust yet.
no really though, go see trap. or read my review of it if youre on the fence. (no spoilers, promise.) it’s FUN.
i did find out i was awarded a swann fellowship, which means i’ll be spending two weeks doing archival research at the library of congress in january. i’m mainly spending time with their fantastic SPX collection, which i am very excited to get my paws on. this is in support of my dissertation work!
speaking of, if you haven’t listened to the interview series i’m doing over on drawing a dialogue yet, check it out! so far we’ve had emma jayne, sunmi, seosamh, and higu rose, and our next going up in august (hopefully) will be with carta monir!! i’m going to continue doing these interviews over the next year so it’s a great time to subscribe to the podcast if you haven’t been already.
the full, unedited interview and transcript for these are hosted on my website, but it does take me a little while to get those up since i have to edit the transcript by hand. for now. 😔
i mostly wrote this to plug my review of trap and encourage yall to see it. if you haven’t checked out hyperreal film journal yet though, do it! we publish daily m-f, and we also always accept pitches from anyone. i’m also working on a special column that’ll be a patreon supporter bonus … more on that later. winks.
