Happy December, friends!
Sneaking in right before the end of the year, I am offering a print for sale.
🍰 Order your print here 🍰
The caveat is that the print is not guaranteed to arrive by the end of the year, and I’ll be processing orders until Friday 12/16. After that, you are welcome to place an order, and it will be sent to the printer on Tuesday 1/3/2023.
It’s an odd time to offer anything for sale that isn’t in line with the frenzy of gift-giving, but I decided to have this soft start now instead of waiting. Let’s just see how it goes!

About the print
I’m very excited to announce that my photographer friend, Andria Lo, and I are offering a print of the cake platter image that we shot this year. It’s one of a series of three photos that we created as an homage to the great painter, Wayne Thiebaud. I crafted lots of cake slices and tarts out of paper, and together with Andria created sets in delicious colors, lit in a way that produced saturated, colored shadows. It is my absolute favorite project of 2022.
To get this printed, I worked with an Oakland-based fine art print shop that I’ve long admired. I chose a local printer because it was important to me to be able to produce test prints and check out the colors and brightness in person, since those aspects are really important to me. I visited them last Wednesday and was blown away. A calm, airy shop, the printers were attentive and careful. I saw them handling others’ prints and am fully confident entrusting them to print and ship these orders. With their advice, I swapped out the original paper stock I had chosen to a brighter, cooler-toned one (Moab Entrada, if you're curious), which made the colors and contrast of the photo stand out more. In a nutshell, this piece is professionally printed by a local, detail-oriented shop in archival quality.
I hope you enjoy! If you purchase a print, please send along photos of where it ends up! We would love to see it out in the world.
Thanks for being a friendly audience for me to start my print-selling!
